While Bill Murray has long said that he is not interested in returning for ‘Ghostbusters 3,’ he did recently sit down and have a chance to talk about the potential all female casting choice. So that begs the question, what does this founding member of the Ghostbusters think about his replacement being a woman? Let’s take a look on his response as to who will potentially be strapping on a proton pack for the third movie in the franchise.

“It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other! There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it’s a grand idea, I don’t know who they’re talking about, but it’s a good idea, I would watch it! I mean, I love Robert Palmer’s videos, so why wouldn’t I love the female Ghostbusters?”

Aside from clearly loving women as hinted at by the above comment, I’m sure Murray just loves the idea that an all female cast means he won’t be a part of the next movie as he has long been against joining the cast. Though, I’m sure he’ll still be harassed to be a part of some kind of a passing-of-the-torch moment though it’s likely there will be a lot less pestering than for a starring role.

As much as I’d love to see all of the living Ghostbusters show up for one more film, that has long been an unrealistic want. Since ‘Ghostbusters 3’ is going to happen whether we like it or not, at least Murray seems to be for this idea as he’s been completely against almost every other idea for the film that has popped up so far.

What do you think of the all female ‘Ghostbusters’ idea? Do you think Murray is for it just so he won’t have take part in the film or do you think it really is an idea with potential?
