First Gwendoline Christie, who plays Brienne of Tarth on HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, signed on to J.J. Abrams’ upcoming ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ and now another actor from the hit fantasy show is joining her.  Miltos Yerolemou, who had a smaller role as Syrio Forel, Arya Stark’s sword fighting coach in season one of the show, has also taken a role in the anticipated relaunch.

Of course EVERYTHING about this movie is secret, so we have no idea who he will be playing.  Filming has already been going on for a while, so the assumption is that his role won’t be that big, but there has been talk that minor characters in ‘Episode VII’ may turn out to be major characters in later installments.  It’s happened in the past.  Emperor Palpatine barely appeared in ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ only to go on to be the major bad guy in ‘Return of the Jedi’.  And that’s just one example.

Most are assuming, however that thanks to Verolemou’s evident sword fighting skills that he will play someone who wields a lightsabre.

This of course doesn’t narrow anything down.  Both heroes and villains have utilized lightsabres, so his part could go either way.

At any rate, Yerolemou joins a cast that already includes Andy Serkis, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Christina Chong, Dixie Arnold, Pip Anderson, Oscar Isaac, Donhnall Gleeson, Crystal Clarke, Max Von Sydow, Adam Driver and Lupita Nyong’o, all playing mystery roles that we know nothing about, as well as crotchety old man Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Kenny Baker, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew, reprising some of the most famous roles in film history.

(Nyong’o is rumored to be playing a Sith Lord, Driver a villain of some sort and Ridley is rumored to be playing the daughter of Han Solo and Princess Leia but those are JUST rumors at this point.  Also, at this point, shouldn’t Ridley be their granddaughter? )
