The year 2014 marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic sci-fi comedy ‘Ghostbusters’ and there will be a number of ways to celebrate in the coming months. First, the film returns to theaters for a limited re-release on August 29th in over 700 theaters across North America to relive its success from the summer of 1984. Then, on September 16th, Sony Pictures will release a collector’s edition Blu-Ray set with both movies and an exclusive Slimer figure. But it all kicks off on August 28th, which has been dubbed National Ghostbusters Day!
Though there has been a ton of focus on the on again, off again sequel ‘Ghostbusters III’ in recent years, National Ghostbusters Day will focus on the films that started it all.
