With Wesley Snipes out of jail for tax evasion, he is ready to jump back on the movie making bandwagon and recently has said that he would love to return to the ‘Blade’ series.

Clearly Marvel is making their films work past all expectations and Snipes most likely wants to get in on the action. Who wouldn’t? However, as the original actor for ‘Blade’ who did a good job as the character, it’s understandable why he’d want to return to it. While he was great in the first two films, it isn’t because the third film was a flop  and panned by critics everywhere that’ll stop his return from happening.

What IS going to prevent Snipes from donning his shades again is that Marvel regained the rights back to both ‘Ghost Rider’ and ‘Blade’ about a year ago. If they are going to bring these two characters back to the big screen, you can bet your bottom dollar that a full reboot is going to happen in a way that they can be introduced into the larger cinematic continuity that has been created.

Still, if the role was to be offered, Snipes would clearly be up to the part as he says below:

“I’d be open to it. You know I think we got some stones left unturned and there’s some latitude for us to build on. I’d love to get back in the suit and do some things that I’ve learned how to do now that I didn’t know how to do then. I think we’re better at making that kind of a film now. You know, some of the things that we did in the early parts of the franchise were experimental and now they’ve become customary in a lot of The Avengers films and other comic book adaptations.”

Now don’t get my negative attitude wrong, I really enjoyed the first two films and thought they were a lot of fun. I’d be eager to see Snipes take on the role once again as I truly feel that he embodied it perfectly. I just don’t see Marvel bringing back an actor to a rebooted series.

Much as DC has their vision for a ‘Dark Justice League‘ set of films, I could see Marvel doing their own take on that. Of course since they like to build to cross overs and with Doctor Strange happening, as well as having the rights to both Ghost Rider and Blade back, you never know what the future could bring.

Would you want to see Marvel give Snipes a shot at returning to the one of his most popular characters? If not Blade, who would you like to see Snipes portray in the Marvel Universe? Share your thoughts below true believers!
