Dimension Films has just announced that their next foray into horror, ‘Demonic’,  is going to possess a December 12th, 2014 release date. The film is based on an idea by James Wan (‘Fast & Furious 7’, ‘Saw’), so you an anticipate a pretty good story as Wan is responsible for ‘The Conjuring’, ‘Insidious’, and so many other amazing works in horror over the past ten years . Not only is the movie based on his idea, but he will be co-producing it with Lee Clay (‘The Chumscrubber’,’Very Good Girls’) and is co-writing it with Doug Simon, Max La Bella, and Will Canon. Canon is working double duties here as he has been tapped to direct the film as well.

The two leads in ‘Demonic’ will be played by Maria Bello (‘A History of Violence’,’Secret Window’) and Frank Grillo (‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’,’The Grey’). The film will follow these two as Dr. Elizabeth Klein and Detective Mark Lewis who are interviewing one of the few survivors of a horrible massacre. After five college students were viciously murdered, survivors tell the story of how they were amateur ghost-hunters investigating a haunted house, at which point, things went horrible wrong.

According to President of Theatrical Distribution & Home Entertainment for The Weinstein Company and Dimension Films Erik Lomis, who has the longest title I’ve seen in months, “James Wan is the new master of terror and we are thrilled to be releasing his film this December”
