One of the most popular characters from the last season of ‘Game of Thrones’ was Oberyn Martell. The Red Viper of Dorne played by Pedro Pascal attracted fans with his open-minded outlook on life and his irresistible charm, but the character was taken from us far too soon thanks to the Mountain. However, it looks like we his crushing defeat won’t mark the last time we see the Martells in the acclaimed HBO fantasy series because an actress has just been added to the expansive cast roster as one of the Dornish prince’s daughters.

According to The New Zealand Herald, Keisha Castle-Hughes will be appearing in the next season of the show based on George R.R. Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ novels. The actress is best known for her Oscar nominated performance in ‘Whale Rider’, but now she’ll be playing one of the infamous Sand Snakes AKA Oberyn’s bastard daughters who were briefly mentioned in season four. While there are eight all together, it’s said that the show will only focus on three of them: Obara Sand, Nymeria Sand, and Tyene Sand.

Currently, it’s unknown which of the three daughters the young Australian-born actress will play, but various outlets have their theories. While the Herald speculated that she has the right look for the dark-skinned and beautiful Nymeria, Vanity Fair hopes that Castle-Hughes will play the eldest, most violent daughter Obara, who is rumored to have a huge fight scene with Jamie Lannister that isn’t taken from the books. Either way, this role is sure to be her biggest break in her career yet.
