August 29th, 2014 is going to be an amazing day for ‘Ghostbusters‘ fans as Sony is putting the film back on the big screen to celebrate its 30th anniversary! I can’t believe that ‘Ghostbusters’ came out 30 years ago.

I have to admit, I am quite happy to say that fans of the movie are going to get another chance to see it on the big screen at long last! Or, for those who are a little younger, to be able to see it for the first time! Lets be honest even those who can remember it on the big screen saw it so long ago it’d be worth another viewing.

While it is highly unlikely anyone will be going into the theater and be watching the movie for the first time, that won’t matter! It is clearly a movie you’ll be going to watch with a ton of fellow fans who will still, after all of these viewings, be laughing at the same jokes and enjoying every moment of seeing the movie in all of its glory with a full audience. If you are somehow seeing this for the first time everyone that you’ll be watching this with is going to be extremely jealous!

The one concern for the film is that it is a 4K restoration which will either make this the most beautiful showing of the movie that you’ve ever seen or it’ll look a little wonky. Here, check the trailer below to judge yourself!

I think it is going to look beautiful and am SO going to call the Ghostbusters on Labor Day weekend as its released. Are you going to be checking out Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Rick Moranis in the roles that we’ve all grown to love them in over the years?
