November 21st is still a bit away but we’ve got the first set of promotional posters for ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’, the follow up to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire‘. Fans of the film have been giving the franchise large box office numbers since the very first film. Past that, though, the story has even had a more noticeable change on society internationally with the salute being used by Thai protesters over what is happening in their country!

These latest set of promotional posters really do a great job at showing off the heroes and random styles for the various districts that are forced to compete in the games. These are the perfect propaganda posters for the Panem government to release to attempt to distract the districts from the ongoing rebellion that they are dealing with.

While Katniss Everdeen might be the figurehead of the rebellion, her ‘Girl on Fire’ look has clearly been taken to inspire the looks of each of the other districts represented here. Sure, the Capital might be full of their own unique and colorful styles already but this really smacks of the look that was designed for her in the first film.

Let’s check them out!

Fibre Bissette, 32, Technology District

Naida Dolan, 22, Fishing District

Malcolm Kastel, 31, Transportation District

Elias Haan, 26, Lumber District

Triti Lancaster, 17, Grain District

Felix Stam, 35, Livestock District

Lily Elsington, 6, Mining District

Not bad for a first set of posters for the film. I like how they are focusing initially on other characters from the series and not those that will be in the central roles of the film. I mean, let’s be honest, for the most part we know who they are. Still, I do I wonder what will happen when they start showing off the main characters and if there will be any special attention (or just a little less being shown) of the late Philip Seymour Hoffman‘s role of head game maker, Plutarch Heavensbee.

Which of the looks above do you think did the best job? Are you looking forward to checking out ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1’ later this year? Do you think the initial posters have the right feel for propaganda from the capital? Share your thoughts below!

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 opens in U.S. theaters on November 21st, 2014, followed by Part 2 a year later on November 20th, 2015.
