Back in January 2013, we learned that M. Night Shyamalan would be entering the event series game with ‘Wayward Pines’ for Fox. The filmmaker is the executive producer of the ‘Twin Peaks’-esque show based on the best-selling novel by Blake Crouch and not too much info beyond that has surfaced since it entered into production. But now, we have the first trailer for the upcoming series that’s set to follow a Secret Service agent who wanders into this peculiar Idaho ton in search of two lost federal agents.

Earlier this week, The Hollywood Reporter shared this first look at the show starring a slew of Academy Award nominees such as Matt Dillon, Terrence Howard, Melissa Leo, Toby Jones, and Juliette Lewis. There’s no word on when we’ll be seeing the show hit the airwaves just yet, but until we do hear something, check out the trailer below, followed by the show’s synopsis:

Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in the bucolic town of Wayward Pines, ID, on a mission to find two missing federal agents. But instead of answers, Ethan’s investigation only turns up more questions. What’s wrong with Wayward Pines? Each step closer to the truth takes Ethan further from the life he knew, from the husband and father he was, until he must face the terrifying reality that he may never get out of Wayward Pines alive.

Not only is Shyamalan executive producing the series, but he has also directed the pilot episode, which features a script written by the creator of the unfortunately short-lived NBC show ‘The Playboy Club,’ Chad Hodge. Fox also has a page set up for the show already where you can find a much more in depth description of what the show is about.

What do you think of the first trailer for ‘Wayward Pines’? Are you planning on tuning in when the show premieres on Fox? Sound off in the comments.
