Earlier, rumors of a new Batman game began making the rounds on the interweb. To everyone’s surprise the rumours turned out to be true. GameInformer got the drop on the low down and has revealed the first details online about the game.

Developer Rocksteady, who practically made Arkham a household name with ‘Batman: Arkham Asylum’ and ‘Batman: Arkham City’, is back with ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ and….if the trailer is anything to go by, it looks awesome.

‘Batman: Arkham City’ brought us a rich open world with an advanced combination based combat system and in my opinion was an absolute joy to play in 3D, one of the few recent titles that got it right. Now Rocksteady is hoping to raise the bar even higher on what will be the final Arkham game in the franchise by finally introducing the (somewhat badass looking) Batmobile and significantly extending the gameplay map to cover a much larger area than just Arkham City. Of course, the seamless grappling hook and glide functions which made the previous titles such a pleasure to play will remain.

Here’s the official lowdown:

“In the explosive finale to the Arkham series, Batman faces the ultimate threat against the city he is sworn to protect. The Scarecrow returns to unite an impressive roster of super villains, including Penguin, Two-Face and Harley Quinn, to destroy The Dark Knight forever. Batman: Arkham Knight introduces Rocksteady’s uniquely designed version of the Batmobile, which is drivable for the first time in the franchise. The addition of this legendary vehicle, combined with the acclaimed gameplay of the Batman Arkham series, offers gamers the ultimate and complete Batman experience as they tear through the streets and soar across the skyline of the entirety of Gotham City. Be The Batman.”

‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ will be released later this year on October 14th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
