Bon Temps is getting a little more rock ‘n’ roll this season with the addition of a new vampire! According to Deadline, the popular HBO series ‘True Blood’ has added Riley Smith to the cast in a major recurring role.

Smith is a very familiar face for fans of the CW network. He has appeared on the series ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as The Bombmaker and had a short stint on the now cancelled series ‘90210’ playing Riley Wallace. Recently, Smith finished filming Lifetime’s Civil War made for TV movie ‘Deliverance Creek’ which is said to be a backdoor pilot for a possible series.

In ‘True Blood’, Smith will play Keith, a sexy rock ‘n’ roll drummer in James’ (Nathan Parson) band with a romantic side who sees Arlene (Carrie Preston) and immediately falls in love with her.

[Spoiler alert: If you haven’t finished Season 6, then you may want to skip the rest of the article!]

If you recall, last season Arlene’s husband was “killed” at the hands of an old Marine Corp friend leaving Arlene a widow. Now whether she returns Keith’s affection is yet to be seen, however, back in October, Preston did say in an interview that she hoped her character isn’t paired up with anyone anytime soon:

“I hope they don’t pair [Arlene] up with somebody. I’d like to see her be a strong woman and be OK in the world as a mom and an owner of a business and not be someone who doesn’t feel complete if she doesn’t have a man. This would be a nice evolution for her.”

This will be the seventh and final season for ‘True Blood’ and it will be interesting to see how the writers will wrap up everyone’s storylines. The series has had its fair share of ups and downs throughout the years but continued to be one of HBO’s more popular series.

At the moment, there is no premiere date for ‘True Blood’ but expect the series to return after ‘Game of Thrones’ finishes its fourth season run sometime in early summer.
