Chris Gorak, a former production designer who segued into directing with the 2006 film ‘Right At Your Door’, penned a spec script for a science fiction film named ‘Attach’, which sparked a bidding war among studios.  Paramount has come out on top and will finance the film, with Adam Shroeder (‘Chronicle’) producing.

Though exact details are being kept under wraps, the film is reported to be similar in tone to ‘Chronicle’ with a “big visual concept” and a youthful cast.  ‘Chronicle’, it should be pointed out, was a surprise hit for 20th Century Fox, costing only $12 million to produce, and generating $127 million in revenue.

Recently, Gorak directed ‘The Darkest Hour’ another science fiction film that focused on young characters and revolved around an alien invasion.

Reportedly, Gorak’s script also came with visual tests for the film, which is what sparked the bidding war.

What was it that generated so much interest?  Guess we’ll have to wait until the movie is completed to find out.

What do you think?  Are you curious to doscover what all the fuss is about?
