Back in April, Open Road Films acquired the domestic distribution rights for the follow up to the 2006 ‘Silent Hill’ movie called ‘Silent Hill: Revelation 3D’. Previously, we saw a clip of a pre-‘Game of Thrones’ Kit Harrington trying to escape from some freaky faceless knife-wielding nurses. Now, we have a full-blown trailer for the upcoming film based on the Konami video game franchise.

Directed by Michael Bassett and starring Harrington, fellow ‘Game of Thrones’ cast member Sean Bean, Adelaide Clemens, and the legendary Malcolm McDowell, ‘Silent Hill: Revelation’ follows Heather Mason as she fights through some hellish nightmares to save her father. Here’s the full synopsis, followed by the trailer, courtesy of Comic Book Movie:

Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father (Bean) have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. On the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by horrific nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her forever.

After watching that, I’m flashing back to memories of being very afraid of playing the games as a child, especially seeing that mannequin spider thing. Since I was a scaredy cat back then, I don’t exactly recall enough to judge if this looks like it’ll be a faithful adaptation, but for you hardcore fans, you’ll be able to find out for yourselves on October 26, 2012.
