Josh Brolin just entered early talks to play the lead in ‘Jurassic World’. Like the storyline for the film, the character Brolin is in talks to play has been kept under wraps.

Similar to Bryce Dallas Howard, Brolin was in consideration before production abruptly halted over the summer to revise the screenplay. However, talks are back on and possibly were back on a couple weeks ago. Variety had announced his casting several weeks ago but later redacted the announcement. Reports today suggest that no formal offer has been made, but Brolin should expect to see one soon.

Manga and comic fans should also be excited as Brolin will next appear in the reboot of ‘Oldboy’ as well as ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill For’. Brolin is already earning praise for his role in Jason Reitman’s ‘Labor Day’, which is due to open in December. He’s also appearing in Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘Inherent Vice’ next year.

Other actors rumored to be contenders for ‘Jurassic World’ include ‘New Girl’s’ Jake Johnson as well as ‘Jack Reacher’s’ David Oyelowo.

Brolin’s announcement comes days after ‘Iron Man 3’s’ Ty Simpkins landed a part in the fourth Jurassic Park film.

‘Jurassic World’ is set up open in 3D on June 12, 2015 with Colin Trevorrow directing from a screenplay by Derek Connolly.
