We’re a little more than a month away from the premiere of the next chapter in Marvel’s Phase Two where we catch up with the Asgardian Avenger in ‘Thor: The Dark World’. Naturally, we’ve been getting a ton of promotional material to hype the release of the new film. Hell, you’ll even get to meet Thor at Disneyland starting on November 1st! But now, we have the first official clip from the movie to further build up our anticipation.

Fandango released the clip that features Thor approaching his imprisoned brother Loki in an attempt to enlist his help. However, he offers a quite stern warning in the event of betrayal. You can really feel the brotherly love in this extended version of a scene that we’ve seen a few times in past trailers and TV promos. Check out what’s sure to be the first of many clips that we get before the movie hits theaters below, followed by the film’s synopsis:

‘Thor: The Dark World’ continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s ‘Thor’ and Marvel’s ‘The Avengers’, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

What do you think of the first clip from ‘Thor: The Dark World’? Do you think that Thor will be forced to make good on his promise to Loki? Do you think that the notorious trickster will betray his brother in favor of a more powerful ally? Share your thoughts and theories in the comments.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, and Anthony Hopkins is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
