Earlier this year, to promote the release of ‘Iron Man 3’, Disneyland welcomed Stark Industries into Innoventions in Tomorrowland to showcase the Iron Man technology used by Tony Stark, including the brand new Mark 42 armor. This was all part of a new initiative announced at this year’s D23 Expo to expand Marvel’s presence in the company’s theme parks that also included Captain America appearing at the Avengers Academy on the Disney Magic cruise ship. Then, about a month ago, we learned that a new Avenger would be taking up residence in the Happiest Place On Earth. It was announced that Thor would be coming to the park to hype the upcoming ‘Thor: The Dark World’ as the first costumed Marvel character to appear in a Disney park meet and greet scenario. Now, we know the where and the how of it all.

According to Marvel, the God of Thunder will appear as part of an exhibit being presented by Jane Foster and her team. They plan to bring an installation examining the Bifrost Bridge which connects Asgard to each of the Nine Realms including Earth. Along with the highly scientific display, a number of Asgardian artifacts will be featured as well. Here are the full details:

Astrophysicist Jane Foster, who established a special relationship with Thor, has been studying the Bifrost, a cosmic bridge that allows Thor to travel between the Nine Realms, including Earth. She has determined that the Bifrost is set to open again in Southern California and pinpointed the precise location as Innoventions at Disneyland park.

Inside Innoventions, Foster and her team are preparing for the opening of the Bifrost with the installation of ‘Thor: Treasures of Asgard’, a collection of objects brought to Earth straight from Asgard. After viewing the exhibit, you’ll be invited to enter a chamber where the Bifrost will transport you to Asgard for an audience with Thor himself!

This brand new experience is set to begin on November 1, 2013, which is the most tragic news that I could’ve gotten today since I’ll be in Disneyland next week. Anyway, if you’re planning to be in Southern California in November, are you planning on visiting Thor in Asgard via the ‘Thor: Treasures of Asgard’ exhibit in Tomorrowland? Do you think that it will top the one presented to promote ‘Iron Man 3’? Let us know in the comments below.

‘Thor: The Dark World’ starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, and Anthony Hopkins is scheduled to hit theaters on November 8, 2013.
