Recently the movie studios were shaken up a little bit when Legendary moved away from it’s long time partner Warner Brothers and set up shop with Universal. Once that happened, we haven’t heard much out of the company’s upcoming plans.

Well it looks as if at least one movie that we care about has been pushed back because of this.

Seventh Son‘ was set for a January 17th release and after having seen its trailer, we were all quite excited for this fantasy epic. Of course a fantasy movie starring both Jeff Bridges and Julianne Moore is reason enough to get excited, but when you mix in the quality of the special effects and the solid sounding plot? It looked like a sure fire hit.

The problem, though, is that it’s now being removed from it’s original release date since Warner Brothers will no longer be releasing the film and Universal has now become it’s distributor. The film was completely financed by Legendary so they were able to take it with them to their new partner after breaking off from Warner Bros. While it may seem like good news that ‘Seventh Son’ will still be on the big screen, according to Universal, “we haven’t picked a release date yet” was their response to when we might see the film.

Warner Brothers will still be putting out ‘300: Rise of an Empire‘ on March 7th and ‘Godzilla‘ on May 16th, but the rest of Legendary’s projects are up in the air. Currently the company will be submitting ‘Warcraft‘, ‘Hot Wheels’, ‘Mass Effect‘, and ‘Cyber’ to Universal for approval. I’m sure most of these will go through, but I’m seeing one little gem once more being glaringly ignored as we don’t have a ‘Hellboy 3‘ listed.

Only time will tell.
