The wait is over for Call of Duty fans, as Infinity Ward has finally given players a glimpse of the future of CoD multiplayer in the newest trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Long-time CoD players should immediately notice the huge changes coming to the series, first and foremost being the ability to (finally) have full control on character customization. This includes unlocking a variety of new camo designs and clothes as well as the newly implement “Player Patches” will  be displayed on your avatar.

Of course, a few gameplay tweaks made an appearance such as leaning around corners and preforming sprinting slides, while maintaining full control over your weapon. While many casual players may not see these features as such impressive additions, hardcore competitors understand the value of quick kills and maintaining cover.

With a new entry in the Call of Duty franchise, there is bound to be a variety of additional games modes thrown in to provide a distraction from the typical TDM/Domination matches. The trailer revealed the existence of Cranked, where players are rewarded with new special abilities for 30 seconds after scoring a kills, and Search and Rescue, which is essential Team Deathmatch with the addition of being able to be revived by teammates.

Perhaps the most game-changing new feature is the dynamic map events, which range from bits of the environment changing to having entire structures destroyed. It’s a very intriguing new feature, one that is sure to satisfy gamers at home looking for even more intense matches, though there is sure to be an option to turn off such events during private games for the old-school competition crowd.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is shaping up to be yet another best-selling entry in gaming’s biggest franchise, but we’ll know for sure when the game is released on November 5, 2013.
