‘Howard the Duck’ is a Marvel comic character who was created in 1973 and has been making appearences since that time in various media forms. In 1986 he got his big break when a flop of a movie was released that anyone who lived through the 80s probably saw. You groaned and cringed through the whole thing, but you most likely had at least seen it. Sadly, while there is no news on a ‘Howard the Duck’ movie reboot outside of an April 1st joke, there is good news for fans of this feathered fiend!

In comic form, Howard has made very casual appearances through recent major events such as ‘Civil War’, ‘Secret Invasion’, ‘Marvel Zombies 5’, and ‘Fear Itself’. Now though? It sounds like he’s returning to the video game universe this October in ‘Lego Marvel Super Heroes’! I can’t wait! This isn’t Howard’s first entry into video games as there was an ’86 ‘Howard the Duck’ Commodore 64 game released and he also appeared briefly in ‘Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3’.

‘Lego Marvel Super Heroes’ will probably be the most fun you’ve had with Howard in a video game as he’ll be a fully playable character. Also rumored, is that he’ll be a villain in one of the side-missions. He teams up with Vulture to attack the Marvel offices in an attempt to get noticed once again so he has a chance at starring in a new movie. I bet he’s also going to try to be more politically correct than he is in the comics and not be rocking his standard cigar. Which, considering there is Lego Batman: The Movie, it might actually work out in Howard’s favor! Totally makes sense to me.

I’m trying to decide if I’m more excited for this game because Howard the Duck is in it or if it’s just that my gaming time is down so much these days, the Lego ones that I can play are some of the few that get purchased.

Anyway, are you looking forward to the game as much as I am?
