If ypu were watching the ‘Ellen’ show today, then you might have caught Amy Adams introduce the first clip from Warner Bros’ ‘Man of Steel’. If not, don’t worry, we have it here for you to watch!

Earlier, a featurette was released with the filmmakers and cast talking about some of the ways they had tweaked the Superman mythos by making him more contemporary in today’s world. And while Supes suit has changed, what doesn’t change is the pluckiness of the Daily Planet reporter Lois Lane (Adams) and the relationship she has with her curmudgeon of a boss, Perry White (Laurence Fishburne).  This first clip has the two go head to head because (why else) Lois disobeyed orders.

The film really has impressed me with its nonconformity of its casting. A non-brunette Lois, a female Jimmy Olson and an African American Perry White? From what’s been seen, the casting works and I’m intrigued to see how it all pulls together when the film is released on June 14th.

So while ‘Man of Steel’ is a more contemporary version of Superman, it’s nice to see that Snyder kept in some of the mythos attributes that make this superhero so endearing to fans. See what  I mean with the first clip below!

Synopsis:

Clark Kent/Kal-El (Cavill) is a young twentysomething journalist who feels alienated by powers beyond anyone’s imagination. Transported to Earth years ago from Krypton, an advanced alien planet, Clark struggles with the ultimate question – Why am I here? Shaped by the values of his adoptive parents Martha (Lane) and Jonathan Kent (Costner), Clark soon discovers that having super abilities means making very difficult decisions. But when the world needs stability the most, it comes under attack. Will his abilities be used to maintain peace or ultimately used to divide and conquer? Clark must become the hero known as “Superman,” not only to shine as the world’s last beacon of hope but to protect the ones he loves.
