Many fans around the world were disappointed/jealous that China’s cut of ‘Iron Man 3’ would be getting extra scenes that wouldn’t be available anywhere else. However, after the film opened worldwide, we learned that those scenes were nothing more than a few extra minutes of product placement. Still, there are those who did not have access to the exclusive scenes who demand that they be shown outside of the Middle Kingdom and Marvel is giving them what they want.

According to The Playlist, the additional scenes from the Chinese version of the film will be collected into a short film titled ‘The Prologue’. Adding up to about three minutes, the short will focus on Dr. Wu, the character played by Wang Xueqi who only really made quick appearances in the film’s beginning and its end. It’s currently unknown if the short will get a standalone release online or if it’ll be a special feature on the DVD/Blu-ray release of the movie. Either way, the rest of the world will get to see these extra few minutes in some shape or form.

After reading what the scenes entail, it’s not really imperative that the rest of the world needs to see this short. I don’t even think that it should be counted as a Marvel One-Shot because it really doesn’t add to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in any way at all. Unless they’re adding to what they have to make this character more significant, then it’s pretty much a waste of time. That being said, I will most likely watch it once it’s released.

What do you think about ‘The Prologue’ collecting these Chinese-only scenes into a short film for the world to see? Is Dr. Wu a character that you were really curious to learn more about? Or are you only interested in watching it to have seen everything Marvel Studios has put out? Let us know in the comments.

‘Iron Man 3’ starring Robert Downey Jr., Ben Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall, and Guy Pearce is in theaters now.
