With ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ about 2 weeks away from premiering in the US, Paramount has open the floodgates with the promotion of the film. It’s getting to the point where it’s difficult to keep up with all the clips, featurettes and images that they’ve been releasing, so we decided to put them all in one place.
Remember the image of the Enterprise falling in the trailers? If that seemed pretty intense, try being inside the starship as it falls. In the clip below, the Enterprise and her crew are in scrambling for control as Kirk (Chris Pine) and Scotty (Simon Pegg) head to the engine room to fix the problem. The effects are pretty impressive as it shows what it would be like running through the corridors of the Enterprise as it spins, though, the engine room still looks like a beer brewery:
If Trekkies were concerned that Star Trek Into Darkness would be all action and drama, the clip below reminds fans that part of the charm of the franchise is the little quirks of the characters. Here, Kirk meets the new science officer Carol Wallace (Alice Eve) much to the (for lack of a better term to describe a non-emotional half alien) surprise of Spock (Zachary Quinto). Worse yet, the returning science officer did catch the twinkle in Kirk’s eye as he welcomes the new science officer. And if you’re wondering, although we’ve been stating that Eve’s character’s surname was Marcus, the clip below says otherwise. Of course this could be a misdirection, just like [REDACTED]:
The last clip excellently displays Benedict Cumberbatch’s portrayal of John Harrison as he stoically stands toe to toe with the enraged Captain Kirk while being questioned. Even captured, Harrison exhibits an apparent control over the situation around him as he gives coordinates to explain his deeds of crimes against the Federation.
Speaking of Harrison, it’s already been revealed that Klingons will play an adversarial role in the film and we now get a first look of the iconic aliens in this viral clip of Harrison this time targeting Uhura (Zoe Saldana) much like he did with Kirk and Spock:
If you blinked and missed what the Klingons are going to look like in the film, here’s a screen shot courtesy of CBM:
For all the Scotty fans out there, here’s a character profile featurette all about the Chief Engineer:
Last but not least, here are a couple TV spots just in case today’s Star Trek Into Darkness video quota is still leaving you wanting:
