It’s time to boldly go where no game has gone before. Star Trek: The Video Game is finally out in stores.

The game fills the gap between the two films by director J.J. Abrams, following none other than Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock as they face off against an enemy known as the Gorn. With a heavy focus on co-operative gameplay, players will be able to explore the U.S.S. Enterprise and other locations throughout the game’s several missions. Going along with the common theme of Star Trek, working together will be the key to successfully completing each mission. Check out the official launch trailer:

The voice cast includes Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock, respectively, with  appearances by Simon Pegg as Scotty, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, John Cho as Sulu, Karl Urban as “Bones” McCoy, and Anton Yelchin as Chekov.

Star Trek: The Video Game was developed by Namco Bandai Games, with direct involvement from Paramount Pictures.  You can pick up the game on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
