As horror films go, Brian De Palma’s version of ‘Carrie’ ranks up there as one of the all-time classic favorites for horror fans, so it was with some trepidation that many were skeptical about the news of a remake. It didn’t help that the movie was also pushed back several months keeping fans waiting even longer to see Kimberly Peirce’s rendition of the Stephen King book.
But wait no more because ScienceFiction.com has a teaser for the trailer for the film courtesy of ET!
There really hasn’t been much in the promotional department beyond photos of buckets of blood and of Chloe Moretz during the classic prom scene. Now you can see a short 15 sec excerpt of footage from the official trailer from the film.
In the teaser, Carrie (Moretz) finds out that she has telekinetic powers and is learning to come to grips with it.
First impression from the footage is that this film will be different than the original which is a good thing. It’s been said that this reboot will follow King’s novel more than De Palma’s film and that’s enough to get me interested in seeing the film.
While teasers for teaser trailers are annoying, it has become a common marketing tool for studios. At least this teaser is longer than the usual 10 second ones that have been released in the past. It was even intriguing enough to share.
So take a quick look at what the ‘Carrie’ trailer has to offer and let us know what you think of the teaser in the comments below.
