Season 3 of ‘Falling Skies’ has yet to receive an official air date from TNT, but that doesn’t mean the Steven Spielberg produced sci-fi series is going to let viewers forget about the show. A new featurette has been released that not only revisits the events from Season 2 but also teases of what’s to come in Season 3.

(If you haven’t seen all of Season 2, beware as there are spoilers ahead!)

It’s been almost 7 months since the Season 2 finale of ‘Falling Skies.’ Each time the 2nd Mass seemed to have won a battle, something more sinister comes around. At one point it seemed the group found a sanctuary in Charleston only to find that aliens are not the only dangerous species on the planet. And just as they thought to escape the city, the group encounters a new race of aliens (well, one large alien played by Doug Jones)! Meanwhile, Hal (Drew Roy) has gone evil due to being infected with an alien bug. And speaking of alien bugs, Anne’s (Moon Bloodgood) pregnancy may not be all that it seems. After all, Tom (Noah Wylie) did spend time on the space ship as was indicated in the first episode of Season 2 and we still don’t know what was done to him. As for the large weapon the Overlord has pointed into the sky? Viewers may just find out what its purpose is in Season 3.

At least viewers won’t have to wait too long for some new answers as the featurette below does tease what to expect. The video contains footage from the upcoming season and does a great job in reliving Season 2 as well as teasing the storylines for Season 3. As writer Heather Regnier hints in the video, “The overlords are fighting a war with someone else in the universe.  Whatever enemy that gun is pointed at informs what our war is with the overlords.” Executive producer Remi Aubuchon poses the question: “Maybe this isn’t about us. Maybe this is about something else that’s going on. Is something worse coming?” Now that totally puts a new spin on everything we’ve come to know about the series!

Check out the first glimpse of Season 3 of ‘Falling Skies’ below and tell us what you’re most excited to see when the series returns this summer!
