If you’re like me, the spirit of X-Files never really died. You may have moved on to ‘Fringe’ or ‘Warehouse 13’, but your The-Truth-Is-Out-There heart stayed with Agents Scully and Agent Mulder.

Well, if you’re like me, there’s good news. There are old adventures to be re-read, and new adventures awaiting our favorite FBI agents. IDW Publishing announced today that it will collect the comics that were published between 1995-2009 in trade paperbacks. Furthermore, they will publish a new series that will continue after the events of the second movie, ‘I Want to Believe’. It’s projected publishing date is June of 2013.

“Few shows have captured the zeitgeist and fans’ imaginations like ‘The X-Files’, and fewer shows still have left people hungry for more in the way this one did,” said Chris Ryall, IDW’s Chief Creative Officer/Editor-in-Chief.

The back issues to be collected will also include the ’30 Days of Night’ crossover which was published in 2009 in a joint effort with Wildstorm.

So far there hasn’t been any word on who will write the new series, but this ScienceFiction.com writer is hoping for more Frank Spotnitz, regardless of his busy ‘Breaking Bad’ schedule.
