Stephanie Meyer has become synonymous as the writer of supernatural teenage romance novels with her ‘Twilight Saga’ novels. Back in the same year that ‘Breaking Dawn’ was published, Meyer delved into the science fiction genre and wrote an adult romance novel involving aliens and humans called ‘The Host.’ The book has now been adapted to film and we have the latest featurette to share below!

‘The Host’ stars Saoirse Ronan as Melanie Stryder and in the video she talks a little bit about her character who she describes as “touch and feisty” and about doing her own stunts which helps make the film more realistic. Also included are some exclusive behind the scenes footage of the cast and crew hard at work.

Adapted and directed by Andrew Niccol (‘Gattica,’ ‘In Time’), the movie synopsis for ‘The Host’ seems like the focus is more on action than the choices of humanity and the romantic love triangle that is more prevalent in the novel.

It will be interesting to see Niccol’s vision of Meyer’s book when the film is released in March. Until then, check out this new featurette for ‘The Host’ after the synopsis.

Synopsis:

When an unseen enemy threatens mankind by taking over their bodies and erasing their memories, Melanie Stryder will risk everything to protect the people she cares most about – Jared, Ian, her brother Jamie and her Uncle Jeb, proving that love can conquer all in a dangerous new world.
