Marvel’s Phase Two is well into production as ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Thor: The Dark World’ are in the works right now and headed to theaters later this year. But as they start to wrap up and prepare for their theatrical premieres, sights will be set towards the next film in the House of Ideas’ cinematic universe: ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’.

About six months ago, ‘The Hurt Locker’ star Anthony Mackie joined the cast of Cap’s next mission as Sam Wilson, the hero known as The Falcon. Other than who he’s playing, the actor has kept mum on the topic for some time. However, in a recent interview with Ain’t It Cool News while he was promoting his new film ‘Gangster Squad’, Mackie spoke briefly on his upcoming Marvel role. He didn’t (or couldn’t) have much to say about his character, but he did divulge some minor details:

“I will have wings. I will be able to fly. I will be a superhero and fight people, namely The Winter Soldier.”

Mackie goes on to give more substantial information in terms of how he prepared for playing Falcon:

“It was funny; a lot of the research I found was online. My older brother was a huge comic book buff. So when the news came out online, he called me and just gave me the whole rundown. Luckily, I have a lot of friends who weren’t cool growing up, but who are really cool now, so they read a lot of comic books. So I would just call and ask them, and they would send me all of this stuff online, and I got to read a bunch of the old comic books. It’s fortunate, because it’s a take off the comic book, it’s not the exactly storyline of the comic book.”

One concrete bit of information that came out of the interview was that filming would start on April 1st. According to previous reports, Marvel is bringing the production to Cleveland, Ohio, the same location where Joss Whedon shot ‘The Avengers’.
