It’s a pretty known fact that the crown jewel of Marvel NOW! is ‘Uncanny Avengers’ from Rick Remender and John Cassaday. By it’s very nature, it’s a monumental book. Not only does it involve members of the two biggest teams in Marvel history joining forces and fighting side by side, but it also includes some of the biggest villains either team has ever faced. Currently, we’re dealing with the Red Skull but, another big name set to appear in the future is Kang the Conqueror. Now, thanks to this new preview, we see that a classic X-Men villain is joining the fray down the line as well and is looking to bring about the end of the world for Thor and his allies.
Thanks to Comic Book Movie, you can check out a few unlettered pages from ‘Uncanny Avengers’ #6 where we see the God of Thunder stand face to face with Apocalypse:
From these pages, we’ve received confirmation that Daniel Acuna will be taking over interior artwork for John Cassaday, who will still contribute covers to the book. Also, this arc is meant to be a spiritual sequel of sorts to the Dark Angel Saga from ‘Uncanny X-Force’. Here’s what Remender has to say about how the stories will fit together:
“A lot of this story picks arc from the Dark Angel Saga from Uncanny X-Force, though it’s not a sequel. We’ve spent a lot of time incorporating Kang and also Thor into Apocalypse’s mythology. The fun of Uncanny Avengers is the A meeting the X in a big way. You don’t need to have read the Dark Angel Saga to understand this, but if you have, here’s where that picks back up. In that story, Archangel impregnated Pestilence. Whatever she gives birth to is going to be a problem for people and also involve Kang’s machinations and scheming.”
