Before you go jumping to conclusions, this article isn’t about everyone’s favorite billionaire philanthropist playboy making an appearance in James Gunn’s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ film which is currently in the works as part of Marvel Studios’ Phase Two. Although that could actually happen, we’re talking about the good, old-fashioned comics right now where those movies were born.

In Kieron Gillen and Greg Land’s ‘Iron Man’, we were promised a whole mess of new armor and tech for Tony Stark to play with while hunting down bad guys and so far, the writer has made good on that promise. In the finale of Gillen’s first arc of the Armored Avenger’s new Marvel NOW solo title, while Tony is searching for the final Extremis armor,  one more new armor will be unveiled. This so called “God Killer” armor won’t just be used in Iron Man’s solo adventures, but will also be featured in Brian Michael Bendis and Steve McNiven’s upcoming ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ series that was announced at New York Comic Con and teased in ‘Avengers Assemble’ #8. Though we got a glimpse of it on the cover of the galactic group’s first issue, Marvel has recently offered up a sneak peek at the armor’s first actual appearance in the upcoming ‘Iron Man’ #5.
