In the past, while watching Marvel movies, audiences would be on the lookout for Easter Eggs and cameos from other heroes from the Marvel Universe. However, after all this recent talk about ‘Iron Man 3’, who knows if any of that will be included. We’ve been hearing from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige that no Avengers would be popping up in Shane Black’s new Tony Stark tale, but now we’re getting word from a certain bad motherf*cker that he won’t be around either.

According to MTV Splashpage, Samuel L. Jackson won’t be popping up in ‘Iron Man 3’ as Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. Naturally, not every Marvel movie calls for the appearance of the character, but considering that this is the first film of Phase Two, one would think that he’d pop up for a scene or two. Here’s what the actor had to say on the topic and when he’ll be eye-patching up again next:

“I think my next time as Nick Fury is in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier‘. Because I’m not in ‘Iron Man 3’. None of the Avengers are in ‘Iron Man 3.’ It’s a standalone Iron Man movie.”

Unfortunately, that means that we’ll have to wait until 2014 to see Nick Fury on the big screen once again. However, maybe while the actor is taking a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Samuel L. Jackson will have time to stop by Joss Whedon’s set to make a small appearance on ABC’s upcoming Marvel show, ‘S.H.I.E.L.D.’, when it starts shooting in the next few months.

‘Iron Man 3’ starring Robert Downey, Jr., Ben Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Guy Pearce opens on May 3, 2013.
