The media department over at Fox Searchlight have been working overtime as they have just released new photos, a clip, an international trailer, one sheet and a featurette for the Oscar contender film ‘Hitchcock.’ That’s quite a lot of material considering the film will be released in just 10 days.
‘Hitchcock’ is based on the book ‘Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho’ and although the film centers on the difficulties that Hitchcock had to overcome just to make this timeless film, it’s the relationship between Hitchcock (Anthony Hopkins) and his wife Alma (Helen Mirren) that shines here.
The photos show off the great work done by the make-up department in transforming the actors into their respective characters. We’ve already had a good look at Anthony Hopkins as Hitchcock and it’s amazing to see Scarlett Johansson as Janet Leigh knowing just a few months ago she was the ass-kicking dark haired Black Widow in ‘The Avengers.’
The clip of Hitchcock and Alma discussing the fate of Leigh in the film has been partially viewed in the trailers so it’s nice to finally see the entire scene.As for the featurette, it basically gives you what the meat of the film’s story: the love story between Alma and her genius director husband Alfred. Lastly, the trailer is the newest international trailer which has some new footage that wasn’t seen in the domestic one.
So enjoy all the ‘Hitchcock’ goodies as the film will open in theaters in the US on November 23rd. Sorry to our friends across the pond as ‘Hitchcock’ isn’t slated to grace your shores until February 8, 2013.
