Imagine that you’re an extra on one of the most popular shows on television today. You can’t help but take a few pictures in between takes, right? Well, that’s what Richard Nordstrand, an extra on the upcoming season of HBO’s hit show ‘Game of Thrones’, did. He took some shots here and there, then posted them on Twitter. Not only was he posting them for his own enjoyment and bragging rights, but he also gave us a first glimpse as a few new characters this season.

You can see Nordstrand with a number of cast members, including my favorite, Daenerys Targaryen, as well as with Ed Skrein as mercenary Daario Naharis and Nathalie Emmanuel as Missandei, a new servant for the Khaleesi. There’s also a picture of the “Unsullied”, a group of eunuch slave warriors who are freed by Daenerys at some point.

You can check out the pictures in the gallery below:

We haven’t really received much updates on season three of the show based on the best-selling books by George R. R. Martin since some pictures of Riverrun surfaced, but at New York Comic Con, I had a chance to sit down with Jon Snow himself, Kit Harington, and he shared a little bit about the upcoming season that’s filming now. Until we get some more news, feel free to check that out to tide you over.

‘Game of Thrones’ returns to HBO in March 2013.
