The inmates at the institution are growing in numbers as Mark Consuelos has just checked into the second season of FX’s ‘American Horror Story.’

Many know Consuelos as Mateo Santos from the now defunct soap opera ‘All My Children’ and as the husband of ‘Live with Kelly’ host, Kelly Ripa. But Consuelos has been popping up on the small screen here and there making steady appearance on shows like ’Ugly Betty,’ ‘I Hate My Teenage Daughter,’ and ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.’ He’s currently executive producing a new cheerleading reality show called ‘Cheer’ with his wife.

While his precise role is being kept hush-hush, it is known that Consuelos will be playing a patient at the institution named Spivey. Whether he is part of the long list of people set against Jessica Lange’s nun character or an ally to her is unknown.

Consuelos will be joining the long list of celebrities who have already signed on for season two which includes Zachary Quinto (‘Star Trek 2,’ ‘Heroes’), Adam Levine (lead singer of Maroon 5 and a judge on ‘The Voice’), James Cromwell (‘Spider-Man 3,’ ‘I,Robot’), Chloe Sevigny (‘Big Love,’ ‘Zodiac’), Joseph Fiennes (‘Flash Forward,’ ‘Shakespeare in Love’), and Chris Zylka (‘The Amazing Spider-Man, ‘ ‘The Secret Circle’).

Filming is scheduled to begin this week with the series set to return sometime in October.
