Yesterday, at the Marvel Video Games panel, the panelists were rudely interrupted by a loudmouth in red and black spandex… And fans couldn’t be more excited about it! After unveiling details about games like ‘Marvel: Avengers Alliance’ and ‘Marvel vs. Capcom Origins’, Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, crashed the panel, stormed the stage, and announced that he would be getting his own video game.
According to IGN, High Moon Studios and Activision are teaming up again to bring the Merc with a Mouth to our gaming consoles. Not much is known about the game yet, except that Nolan North, who voiced the character in ‘Hulk Vs’ and ‘Spider-Man: Shattered Dreams’, will reprise his role for the new game.
In the video below, you can check out the totally awesome announcement video that was played at Comic-Con. I’d go on to describe what you’d see but you really, REALLY need to see this for yourselves:
Is this not the Deadpool we’ve been wanting for the longest time?! Sure, we’ve gotten the character in a few video games before, but never like this. It looks like the game will have every bit of the sick, twisted humor, the fourth wall-breaking, r-rated banter, and kick-ass action that we’ve all come to know and love from Deadpool.
While I’m still disappointed that things haven’t been moving forward with the Deadpool movie from Robert Rodriguez starring Ryan Reynolds to redeem the character after the awful interpretation of the character in ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’, this game should do nicely to tide over fans until that movie can be made. For me, I think this might be the push that I needed to finally get a Playstation 3.
What do you think about this new Deadpool game? Would you say that this is awesome or SUPER AWESOME? Sound off in the comments.
