Dreamworks has released the second trailer for its holiday film ‘Rise of the Guardians’ and this time there’s a new player in the mix and it’s Jack Frost (voice by Chris Pine ).
The first trailer released a few months ago just touched on the legendary childhood icons which formed “The Big Four”: Santa Claus aka North (voiced by Alec Baldwin), the Easter Bunny aka E. Aster Bunnymund (voiced by Hugh Jackman), the Tooth Fairy aka Tooth (voiced by Isla Fisher) and the Sandman. It allowed movie goers a brief introduction to the players of the film.
Now, with this new trailer, the actual plot of the film unfolds. It brings into focus the lead of the film who happens to be the mischievous, devil-may-care Mr. Winter himself, Jack Frost. In the film, Frost must decide if he wants to join the Big Four to defeat Pitch, the Boogeyman himself, who is intent on stealing the dreams of children and leave them with nightmares.
The story is loosely based on the William Joyce book series ‘The Guardians of Childhood’ and the trailer does make it seem as though the movie has captured the magic of the mythical characters we all knew as a child even while re-imaging them to make them seem more powerful and grander. The trailer does a good job of tapping into the inner child and almost making you feel like believing in these icons was again possible.
‘Rise of the Guardians’ will arrive in theaters on November 21st, just in time for the holiday season. Will you be watching the legendary Guardians unite?
