What better way to promote a film about fighting for freedom (albeit against vampires) than to release a trailer of the interesting genre mash up film ‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’. Not only has 20th Century Fox revealed a new side of the president, but they have also announced that they will be screening the film for the men and women serving aboard the Naval aircraft the USS Abraham Lincoln as well as in two other undisclosed Naval locations.

While the previous trailers have focused on the action of Lincoln’s axe-welding exploits against the undead, this trailer is a bit more dramatic. Its use of music combined with Benjamin Walker’s voice over as Abraham Lincoln reciting the Gettysberg Address while historical scenes are flashed across the screen sets up the excitement and tone of the movie.

But even with all the marketing and promotion going on with this film, what impressed the most was the announcement that the studio will provide the military a special first look before the film is released. Walker, Anthony Mackie (who plays William Johnson), Erin Wasson (who plays Vedona) as well as the film’s producer Jim Lemley (‘Wanted’, ‘We Were Soldiers’), director Timur Bekmambetov (‘Wanted,) and screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith (‘Dark Shadows,’) will all introduce the film aboard the aircraft USS Abraham Lincoln. They will also be on hand to distribute “Lincoln-esque top-hats” as well as fangs for the sailors to decide if they’re patriots or vampires. In addition, movie tie-in books and special graphic novels will also be given out.

“We are pleased and proud to have this opportunity to visit with the men and women serving on the USS Abraham Lincoln,” said Lemly, “We hope they enjoy our film and know how much everyone in the United States appreciates their service.”

‘Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter’ explores the secret life of the 16th president and the untold story of historical events not included in any history books. But you can get a glimpse of his crusade against the undead in the trailer via MSN!
