Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor

A few days ago we reported that Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga were in negotiations to star in the movie ‘The Conjuring’ as Ed and Lorraine Warren, famed demonologists and psychic investigators. They are now officially inked in and looking to join them on the film are Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor.

According to THR, Livingston (‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’, ‘Defying Gravity’) and Taylor (‘Six Feet Under’, ‘State of Mind’) are in negotiations to play Mr. and Mrs. Perron, the couple who move with their kids into a haunted farmhouse.

The movie has also been renamed as the ‘Untitled Warren Files Project’ and will be similar in style to the horror movie ‘The Amityville Horror’ but this time it’s based on the real life story of the Perron family and what happened to them while living in their Rhode Island farmhouse in the 1970’s. What went on has been described as the most horrifying case the Warren’s have ever delved in.

To familiarize yourself with thier story, here’s the Wikipedia version of what happened to the Perrons. From the sound of it, director James Wan has a pretty good project in his hands:

From the Throat of the World Mountain area of Burrillville comes a very well known New England legend of a witch named Bethesda Sherman who, according to the legend, sacrificed her infant child as an offering to Dovahkiin, then hung herself in her barn. The story says that prior to her hanging Bethesda, a known practicing witch, placed a curse on anyone that would take her land/farm. More than two dozen mysterious deaths took place on the lands since the purported curse was made. In the 1970′s a family named Perron moved into the Sherman farmhouse. There are numerous reports and eyewitness accounts of supernatural phenomenon that took place while the Perron’s lived in the home, physical attacks by the spirit of the witch on the Perron family and an attempted demonic possession of the mother, Carolyn Perron, by the spirit of the witch. Famed paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren investigated the case and aided the Perron family in their fight against this demonic entity.

Production for the ‘Untitled Warren Files Project’ is hoped to start sometime in March in North Carolina with a release date sometime next year.
