Like Boba Fett before him, Darth Maul became a fan favorite by merely being a badass. Like Fett, Maul has three lines in the entirety of ‘Star Wars: The Phantom Menace’ before he’s sliced and diced by Obi-Wan Kenobi. Of course, in his brief screen time, Maul, with his menacing tattooed face and double-sided lightsaber flipped and slashed his way into the hearts of fans everywhere. And like Fett, who’s been resurrected in various novels and comic books, it seems as if Darth Maul just won’t stay dead. Maul’s backstory and origins have been been expanded upon in the ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ animated series. Now, with season four of the much loved series looming, Cartoon Network and Lucasarts have released a trailer revealing that the Sith apprentice is not as dead as he appeared when we last saw him.

Of Maul’s inexplicable return from literally being split in two, supervising director Dave Filoni, explains: “The Dark Side of the Force is the path to many abilities some consider to be…unnatural,” Darth Sidious says in Revenge of the Sith. Sidious and his master found a way to use the Force to cheat death – that’s how he was able to keep Vader alive after that little swan dive into a lava field. Couldn’t Maul have picked up on some of that too? He’s suffered through a lot to keep himself alive and implemented the training of his master to do so.”

But enough with just telling you that it’s going to happen. Let’s get to the point and the reason you clicked this link to begin with. Here’s the trailer for season 4 of ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’:
