Grant Morrison seems to be extremely busy these days. Not only has he given Superman a reboot in Action Comics #1, he has just finished writing the second draft of ‘Dominion: Dinosaurs vs. Aliens’ and word has it that once he is done with that screenplay, he will be penning  a screen adaptation of the comic book ‘Rogue Troopers.’

If you’re not familiar with ‘Rogue Troopers’, it is a sci-fi British comic book series created by Gerry Finley-Day and Dave Gibbons. It follows the adventures of a soldier named Rogue who is genetically engineered to be an elite solder and was made to be immune to almost all known toxins. He is accompanied by 3 sentient computers which have the personality of a different dead soldier: Gunnar, who is attached to Rogue’s rifle, Bagman, who is attached to his backpack and Helm, who is located on Rogue’s helmet. The project is being developed by actor Sam Worthington’s (‘Avatar’, ‘Clash of the Titans’) production company, Full Clip Productions.

Morrison is in high demand in Hollywood. Barry Sonnefeld himself brought Morrison in for the ‘Dominion: Dinosaurs vs. Aliens’ project.  Sonnefeld wanted a comic book version of what would happen if aliens arrived when dinosaurs ruled the earth and from there, the film was built. If the make over of Superman is any indication, Morrison’s unique style in writing will definitely be a refreshing change from what moviegoers usually see when’Rogue Troopers’ is finally done.
