This Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers will play against the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV, science fiction fans will get to enjoy seeing a number of trailers for upcoming genre films.

Fans wanting a look at the latest trailers will see these films on Sunday:

Rango (March 4)
Thor (May 6)
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides (May 20)
Super 8 (June 10)
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (July 1)
Captain America: The First Avenger (July 22)
Cowboys & Aliens (July 29)

Science fiction fans will also see several movie trailers during Super Bowl XLV’s pregame festivities including:

This year Fox is broadcasting the game and rates are a little more expensive than last year with a 30-second spot running about $3 million. Although last year’s Super Bowl delivered a record 106 million viewers, movies studios have been spending less during the game since 2006. In 2007 only four movie spots aired during the Super Bowl, marking an all-time low.
