The Science Channel announced a new series, ‘Prophets Of Science Fiction’, at the yearly Television Critics Association conference in Pasadena, California.
The series, which will feature genre director Ridley Scott (‘Blade Runner’, ‘Alien’), will premiere in the second half of 2011 with 8 episodes. It will profile the great minds of science fiction who later inspired “science fact.”
‘Prophets Of Science Fiction’ will explore legendary figures; including Isaac Asimov, Gene Roddenberry and George Lucas, and examines how their work often inspired future discoveries decades before they took place.
Let’s hope Arthur C. Clarke is included in the list of legendary figures.
