The fifth season finale of ‘Dexter’ served strong ratings for the Showtime drama. 2.9 million viewers tuned in on Sunday night or about the same as the season four finale. The current season has been the highest-rated ever for the series averaging 5 million aggregate viewers per week.
Showtime recently renewed the series for a sixth season. Nominated for seven Emmy’s this year, the new season will begin production in Spring 2011.
