Greg Kinnear will join Steven Yeun in the episode ‘The Traveler’ of CBS All Access’ upcoming reboot of ‘The Twilight Zone’, created by Jordan Peele.  There is no further information about the episode.  Like the original, the new ‘Twilight Zone’ is an anthology, with each episode telling a self-contained story, with its own writers, directors, and stars.  Peele is overseeing the entire endeavor and will act as host and narrator.

So far, we know that the first episode is expected to be ‘Rewind’, directed by ‘The First Purge”s Gerald McMurray, with Sanaa Lathan in the lead.  Another episode is entitled ‘The Wunderkind’ and stars John ChoAllison TolmanJacob Tremblay, and his sister Erica Tremblay.  The director of that episode has not been revealed.  On the flip side, ‘Twilight Zone’ supervising producer Alex Rubens will make his directing debut with an episode starring Kumail Nanjiani, but the episode’s title hasn’t been revealed.

The only episode that we know anything about is ‘Nightmare at 30,000 Feet,’ which is a remake of the most famous episode of the original series, ‘Nightmare at 20,000 Feet’.  William Shatner starred in that episode, as an airplane passenger who freaks out when he spots a monster on the plane’s wing, but that vanishes when anyone else looks.  Adam Scott will star in the remake, in the Shatner role.

Kinnear is a well-known and respected actor, who has been nominated for the Academy Award, Golden Globes and Emmys among others.  He may be best known for the films ‘As Good as it Gets’, ‘Sabrina’, ‘You’ve Got Mail’ and ‘Little Miss Sunshine’.  He headlined the FOX series ‘Rake’, and can currently be seen in the sixth and final season of ‘House of Cards’ on Netflix.  Next year, he will be seen in the BBC’s miniseries adaptation of ‘War of the Worlds’.  He is presently filming the film ‘Misbehavior’, in which he stars as famed comedian Bob Hope.

‘The Twilight Zone’ is expected to be released in the fall of 2019.
