Ready To Run: Hulu Unveils Trailer For Marvel's Runaways Season 2

Hulu is preparing audiences for the return of ‘Marvel’s Runaways’ with a brand new trailer for Season 2, which is sure to get fans of the teen superhero series very excited. The trailer, which you can watch below, reveals that Season 2 picks up right where Season 1 left off, with the parents still hunting down their kids while the teens take refuge in their “hide-out” which fans have been waiting for them to find ever since Season 1, especially since it was such an integral part of the comic.

While speaking about the new season with Entertainment Weekly, and talking about the much-anticipated hide-out of the gang, executive producer Stephanie Savage stated:

“This year is much more the cat-and-mouse [game] and the two sides going to war…[The new hideout] It’s in Griffith Park. It was originally built in the 1920s by a magician. It was lived in for many years, [but] perhaps sometime in the ’60s or ’70s there was an earthquake or mudslide that made it uninhabitable.”

Executive Producer Josh Schwartz added:

“We wanted it to be our equivalent of, like, the Batcave…It’s the biggest set that Marvel Television has ever built…When [comic co-creator] Brian K. Vaughan came to the set for the first time, he had tears in his eyes.”

Savage also noted that the hide-out even has a closet full of clothes the kids can don for their heroic adventures:

“There’s the perfect wide-legged 1970s jeans for Karolina (Virginia Gardner) and the perfect leather jacket for Gert (Ariela Barer) and an adorable tiny tuxedo jacket for Nico (Lyrica Okanu). So everything you’d want from every era is hiding in that closet.”

Schwartz also spoke on the new character who can be seen in the trailer, Topher, played by Jan Luis Castellanos:

“He is a character who’s from the comics. He’s not all that he appears to be.”

The trailer itself reveals that Season 2 is going to be full of a lot of the same drama, powers, and emotion that made the first season such a hit, only this time they can just jump right into the swing of things because they do not have to set up as much. Already we can see the kids and the parents using their powers and battling each other in the trailer, which means the season is sure to be filled with many more action-set pieces and showdowns than we saw in the first season.
