Runaways

If you loved how the first season of Marvel’s ‘Runaways‘ came to a close you’ve probably been waiting for this moment. Hulu and Marvel TV have finally revealed the second season trailer for the show that ended up becoming a hit after a bit of a slow burn. Unlike the first season, we’ll be fortunate enough to have things be in the more familiar territory of Netflix viewers as Hulu is allowing for the full 13-episode season to be available on Day 1! Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage are both back as co-showrunners and writers and hopefully can deliver at least as fun of an outing as the first season was able to.

As to what we can expect in the sophomore season of the show?

In Season 2, the Runaways have left their homes (and evil parents) behind and now have to learn to live on their own. As they scavenge for food, search for shelter, and take care of one another, our kids begin to realize, for better or worse, they’re stuck with each other. And it’s up to them to take down P.R.I.D.E. once and for all. But someone sent a mysterious message to Jonah… Is there a mole in the Runaways? Meanwhile, P.R.I.D.E. is focused on finding their children, and Jonah has his own dangerous plan in mind.

While the first season gave us a slow build up in bringing Michael K. Vaughan’s original comic run to life, things should likely be moving much quicker here on out. We’ve been given the setup, we know who the kids are, we know their powers, we see that they’re running from the P.R.I.D.E., and we know that they’re ready to fight for what they believe is right. With the ability to binge the entire second season right away it will likely have a story that won’t feel as if it had both a slow buildup and slow release slate both stacked against it.
