Mark Hamill

We’ve all been pretty much expecting Luke Skywalker to return in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ as a Force Ghost or in a flashback scene and Mark Hamill has confirmed that he’ll be part of the production. Outside of being in the upcoming film, he was very tightlipped on the details. This is great confirmation for everyone who was worried that the Jedi Master might be done with the series after his tragic sacrifice in ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi.’

This isn’t the first indication that the actor would be back either. He was previously listed on the returning cast list along with Anthony Daniels, Billy Dee Williams, and Carrie Fisher. All we can take this as is more proof that the iconic “Star Wars” actors are returning once more.

I’m guessing we’ll be seeing him show up as a Force Ghost much as Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and even Anakin have returned as at this point.

One thing you have to take note on is that Hamill only shares that he’ll be in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX.’ He doesn’t confirm that he’ll be reprising his role as Luke Skywalker. In this case, he could just as easily be a Force Ghost to playing a new character to once again be in a motion capture outfit to bring back Dobbu Scay to the big screen. You know, the little amphibian gambler which he also played while in the Canto Casino and started to insert coins into the open slots on BB-8 while looking quite drunk.

Who do you think Mark Hamill will be playing when he returns in ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’? Do you think that he’ll have a significant part to play in the upcoming film? If he is a Force Ghost will he be there to see Rey, Kylo, or both? Share your thoughts in the comments below!

The Force will be strong in your local theater on December 20th, 2019 when ‘Star Wars: Episode IX’ is released!
