DC Universe Reveals A New Poster For 'Titans'

With less than two weeks to go before ‘Titans’ premiers on DC Universe, more and more promotional material is surfacing.  The latest is a poster, featuring the core team– Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy and Brenton Thwaites as Robin.  The series will depict the formation of this alliance, which runs parallel with Dick Grayson’s maturation from teen sidekick to his own man.

‘Titans’ is the first original series offered by the new DC Universe streaming service.  Already in production is a spin-off, ‘Doom Patrol’.  In addition to these, DC Universe will offer new live action series ‘Swamp Thing’ and ‘Stargirl’ as well as two animated series, ‘Young Justice: Outsiders’ and ‘Harley Quinn’.

In addition to the four main characters, ‘Titans’ will also feature Hawk and Dove, portrayed by Alan Ritchson and Minka Kelly, with an eye on them possibly spinning off into their own series, plus a new Robin, Jason Todd, portrayed by Curran Walters, and Wonder Girl, Donna Troy, played by Conor Leslie.  Though it hasn’t been confirmed, the main antagonist of the first season is believed to be Trigon portrayed by Seamus Dever, with Jarreth J. Merz playing his lackey The Acolyte.  In addition, the ‘Titans’ will also combat the Nuclear Family and Mark Antony Krupa is listed as playing Konstantin Kovar, a character who, in the comics, was a Soviet superhero named Red Star.

Prior to the release of ‘Titans’ on DC Universe, the pilot episode will be screened before New York Comic-Con on October 3rd.  After that, it will be made available to DC Universe subscribers on October 12.  Similar to the way CBS All Access handled ‘Star Trek: Discovery’, DC Universe will only release one episode of ‘Titans’ per week, so one can’t just sign up for a free trial and binge the whole thing at once.  (At least not at first.)  The first season contains 12 episodes.
