We were initially told that the ‘Avengers 4‘ title would give something away so wouldn’t be revealed until well after ‘Avengers: Infinity War‘ was released and now it seems the wait will be longer than expected. Anyone hoping that it would drop in the post-credit scenes from the upcoming ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp’ is going to be hugely let down. In fact, it seems that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is hinting we shouldn’t get our hopes up before much later in the year.
When recently asked in an interview as to when the title will be revealed, Feige stated:
“That’ll be after the Captain Marvel teaser probably, announcing that title. It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film.”
Marvel Studios seems to be still planning out how the press launch will go for ‘Avengers 4’ and the title reveal is going to clearly play into that. With ‘Captain Marvel’ being released prior to ‘Avengers 4,’ and the character having not only been summoned at the end of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ but also rumored to play a big part in it, it seems to safe to think that there has to be a huge focus on the release of Marvel’s last film prior to the end of The Avengers as we know them.
With the movie being “even more shocking” than ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ according to Chris Hemsworth and Feige previously stating that the film will be a “finale,” there is a lot riding on it.
Audience expectations are high, but it is rare for Marvel Studios not to deliver. The problem for fans now is that Marvel won’t be providing this major tease until likely December.
