We’ve seen a lot of Michael Douglas’ spy past hinted at in ‘Ant-Man’ and now the actor would love to do a prequel movie! With ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp‘ likely to explore more of this time period as we see Michelle Pfeiffer brought back into the world as Janet Van Dyne, a prequel would be a great way to have these two iconic actors working together on an action film though there would probably have to be some heavy use of Marvel Studios’ de-aging technology which we saw previously used on Robert Downey Jr. in ‘Civil War’ to make this dream into a reality.

The news came during a Facebook live stream where Douglas was asked if Hank Pym would ever suit up in his spy outfit again. Douglas replied, “Oh God, I hope so. I really hope so.”

That is where he sprang the idea of a prequel on the world:

“I don’t know, you know, I’m just thinking now — you can get small, you can get big, you can get young. I’m for having a prelude — sorry Paul [Rudd] — but I think it’s time to go back to Hank Pym.”

We’ve already seen with the success of  ‘Captain America: Winter Soldier’ that fans love a spy movie set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and using Douglas and Pfeiffer would bring fans out in droves!

Director Peyton Reed has previously joked:

“I know Michael Douglas a little bit, if there’s one thing he loves, it’s putting on a suit, a superhero suit. Loves it, loves the feel of it.”

Joke or not, Douglas did say that “They’re the heroes, I tell you. I don’t know how you do it.”

I’d love to see Douglas strutting his acting chops while in a spy-thriller or action-themed spy movie. Hell, with Douglas’s character previously saying he wasn’t interested in giving his technology to S.H.I.E.L.D., there could even be a reason to bring back Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter! I’m sure fans would love to see her be the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the big screen for a change instead of just hearing about it.

Would you be thrilled to see an ‘Ant-Man’ prequel which featuring Michael Douglas and possibly Michelle Pfeiffer? With a ‘Black Widow’ movie already rumored do you think that another spy thriller could be in the cards for Marvel to create? Share your thoughts below, True Believers!
